Rebecca Johna Mercurio has been doing bodywork since 1999. She has traveled extensively throughout Asia and was exposed to numerous modalities which ultimately lead to her study of energy work in Japan. She is a Reiki Master and avid yoga practitioner. Upon her graduation from the NY Institute of Massage in 2005 she was fortunate enough to find her place at a rehabilitation center working with car accident and worker's comp victims. Her learning curve soared as she dealt with spinal and neurological traumas; tailoring treatments to improve mobilization and help relieve chronic pain from sustained injuries. She has spent the last four years living the island life working at the top spa in the Caribbean at the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman. She recently moved back to her beloved NYC and is building her practice within the beautiful walls of Sixth Street Pilates. Rebecca is well versed in Reflexology, Pre/Post Natal Massage, Hot Stone Therapy, Neuromuscular and Mobilization Techniques, Thai Massage, Deep Tissue/Sports Massage, Myofascial Release and Medical Massage. She is currently in the process of becoming a Doula.
